The Eco-Products EP-HC81 sugarcane clamshell food box stores and insulates hot and cold foods, is safe for use in the freezer and microwave, and is made from reclaimed sugarcane fibers, a renewable resource, to resist damage from grease and cuts. This product meets the D6400 and D6868 standards of ASTM International, formerly known as the American Society for Testing and Materials, for being compostable in municipal and industrial composting facilities. It is also certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) as compostable. The clamshell measures 3 x 8 x 8 inches (H x W X L). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; L is length, the horizontal distance from front to back.) This disposable food container has a white color.

Disposable food service products are used to store, insulate, transport, prepare, and serve food and drink. They may be made of paper, plastics, or metal foil. Food service products for freezing items protect their contents from freezer burn, contamination, and drying. Microwavable food service products are safe for use to heat food in a microwave. Compostable food service products biodegrade about as fast as yard trimmings and food scraps, and disintegrate so that no large plastic fragments remain.

Eco-Products manufactures recycled and biodegradable food-service disposable products and janitorial supplies. The company, founded in 1990, is headquartered in Boulder, CO.
